He studied in the cradle of Peruvian cuisine, at Le Cordon Bleu University in Lima, where for five years he had the opportunity to learn from great chefs such as Rafael Osterling and Toshiro (deceased) and increase his passion for cooking. Alex Nessim is now one of the most important cooks in the Pacific region.

In 2013, he opened his restaurant Pica , where he charms Cali´s inhabitants with unique preparations inspired by the Colombian Pacific. In 2015, he launched Pescando Pacífico , a campaign to demonstrate the great value of fishing communities through a Responsible Fishing Network, in which he works together with fishermen from the North and South Pacific regions to bring to diners and restaurants fresh fish caught using ancestral techniques that respect and help conserve the species.
